Today we went to Bienestar for our interview (lots of 8s - date is 8/8/8, appt was at 8am). Bienestar is a separate entity from FANA. All couples that adopt, regardless of the orphanage, must go through Bienestar. This is a formal part of the process where they see how we are doing as a family and kick off the court portion of the process. This interview can occur after 5 or more business days of caring for your baby. Our lawyer and coordinator (tranlator,driver) were in attendance. The questioning was pretty quick and went well. We signed a few forms and were on our way. We went at the same time (8am) as the Judds and met another family from Minnesota with 2 children while we were there. Completing the Bienestar interview will trigger us to be assigned to a court system. Please everyone pray that we get into a low number court 1 - 7. Those are supposed to be more efficient than many of the higher numbered courts. They basically just get a random court selection from their computer system (1 to 23). We hope to hear which court we were assigned to on Monday.
